You may not have already heard of Club Drive, but you soon will. The four piece band, made up of Aaron, Christian, Stephen and Tommy, are ready to take on the world with their music.
Having recently unveiled their debut track ‘Dangerous‘, the band are currently preparing for their EP launch as well as a main stage performance at this year’s Fusion Festival.
With the release of their EP fast approaching, we caught up with Club Drive’s vocalist Aaron Trowbridge to get the lowdown on the band’s music, their inspirations and what the future has in store for them.

Can you tell us a bit about how Club Drive was formed?
We’ve always ALL been heavily into music and had been in previous other bands from a young age. We met a few years ago through mutual friends and after meeting up and songwriting together, something clicked. We decided to get as many songs together as possible and then get out touring and take to social media to see what response we got.
Choosing the right band name is important – why Club Drive?
How we wish this was a story to go down in history, however… As you well know, finding a unique name in this day and age is near impossible and trying to find something that we felt represented us, our sound and our attitude as well was just as difficult. Club Drive, to us, not only suits our sound but also gives a sense of unity and hard work..two of the things that have really played a major role in achieving the things we have so far!
You’ve recently unveiled your debut single ‘Dangerous’, which we’re massive fans of. What was the inspiration behind the song?
Without sounding too preachy, it’s a bit of a social commentary on the state of things as we see them. Though on the face of it, it’s your upbeat happy pop song, the lyrics make reference to people losing all respect for one another…Something in itself that can only be dangerous.

What’s the reaction been like from fans so far?
Unbelievable. It’s that cliché comment of “We never expected such a response..” but it’s true. We write music that we all enjoy and that we love playing live. The fact that people have really been getting behind this track in such a positive way is far beyond anything we could have hoped for.
You’ll be launching your EP on September 9 at The Islington. What can fans expect to hear from your EP?
The EP has 4 tracks, and each of them compliment one another (we hope) yet there’s still a lot of diversity between them…a good balance of what people know of us already and a taster of better things to follow!
Your music style has been compared to that of The Script, Maroon 5 and 5SOS. Who would you say are your musical inspirations?
Great question and a tough one to narrow down all at the same time. The 4 of us grew up on such a wide range of bands and artists, and though it pains us to say… in hindsight our parents actually had great taste in music. Everything from The Police, Phil Collins, Toto, Chicago & Prince to the likes of R’n’B, Garage and Pop-punk through our teenage years.
You’ll be performing at this year’s Fusion Festival, alongside the likes of Olly Murs, The Vamps and Busted. How does it feel to be on a line-up among such big names, and what can we expect from your performance?
In one word “Energy” – we’re all really looking forward to Fusion and being the main stage opener we’ll be sure to deliver a performance that gets the crowd hyped up for the rest of the acts. To be sharing the stage with such a host of big names is extremely humbling, and we’re definitely ready for this. Let’s hope this is the first of many!
If you could pick an artist or band to go on tour with, who would it be and why?
Tough call…The UK music scene is thriving at the minute and there are so many great acts breaking through, many of which we’d love to tour with. Purely because it’s so hard to choose just one and we’re big fans of a lot of US acts too.. I’d have to say right now it would be either DNCE or One Republic.
What are your go-to songs at the moment?
We’re big fans of Becky Hill (‘False Alarm’), Clean Cut Kid (‘We Used To Be In Love’), DNCE (‘Toothbrush’) & Ariana Grande (‘Into You’).
What have you got planned for the rest of the year?
Loads! We have our EP launch on 9th September in London, we will have lots of new music, new videos and loads more shows coming very soon. It’s gonna be a busy one!
Thank you Aaron for a great chat! Be sure to keep up to date with Club Drive on Facebook and Twitter.
‘Dangerous’ is available to download on September 9 and the last remaining tickets for their EP launch are available here.
